• Sports Xpress Recruiting Xclusive:Charis Fitzgerald

  Charis Fitzgerald, a 2013 6'2 combo guard from West Gadsden High in Florida sat down with SX to update us on his recruitment, heres what Charis had to say:

   

   Burke Garner: What schools are interested in you right now?

   Charis Fitzgerald: " Virginia Commonwealth,Middle Tennessee,North Florida,Bucknell,East Carolina, and Appalachian State."

   

   BG: Which school is recruiting you the hardest?

   CF: "Appalachian State is pushing hard."

   

   BG: Any coaches you particularly like at any schools the most?

   CF: " Will Wade at VCU."

   

   BG: Any visits forthcoming?

   CF: "No visits but plan on playing at upcoming showcase at East Carolina and also playing with my team at Appalachian State."

   

   BG: What do you like about each school?

   CF: "I like VCU's young coaching staff, I like Middle Tennessee's conference and Appalachian State's fast paced offense."

   

   BG: How would you describe your game, Charis?

   CF: " I work very hard I just left Dick Buamgartners shooting camp in Indiana and I have done some 1 on 1s with him, this guy really knows his basketball and I only practice what the 10% of what great players do instead of the 90% that good players do.
  
  I have a very quick first step. I have tremendous range. I can get as high as I want to get and my hang time is unheard of. Im in the gym everyday 3 times a day making sure my mechanics are sharp. The best aspect of my game would probably be to be able to get any where I want to get on the floor and get any shot I want despite my defender. All of my success comes from god and none of it would be possible without him."

   

   BG: Are there any players you'd like to hopefully play with at the next level?

   CF: "I wouldnt mind playing with Landus Anderson of Florida High in Tallahassee, Florida, he's my godbrother. I also wouldn't mind playing with Brandon Shingles of West Gadsden High in Quincy FL. Hes one of the best sharp shooters in the country by far."
